Great post and I gotta say that I agree on all 3 points, to various degrees, but primarily the first one about professional editing and proofreading. I found this to be one of the biggest book related blunders (out of the many) that I’ve made (repeatedly). But now I’m completely convinced of the error of my ways. NO — you cannot self edit effectively, not an entire manuscript and no amount of determination on your part can change that.
